In this issue of our newsletter, we reviewed the literature to identify the strategies used by healthcare professionals to address sexuality-related issues in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Though the literature is scant on this topic, we identified several strategies that have been proven to yield satisfactory outcomes. All stakeholders of ASD (professionals, parents, teachers, etc.) will find the article in this issue an interesting read.

The Autism Corner section informs the parents of children with ASD on the actions they could take if their child experiences sensory overload.

Dr. Karthik Mani, OTD, OTR/L, is a NBCOT-certified occupational therapist who has expertise and experience in treating developmental disabilities, ergonomic health issues, neurological dysfunctions, and geriatric dysfunctions. He has more than 12 years of experience in the field of occupational therapy (OT) and numerous publications to his credit.

Dr. Mani obtained his entry-level OT degree from The TN Dr. MGR Medical University in Chennai, India and earned his doctoral degree at Chatham University, Pittsburgh, US. He is fluent in Tamil and English.
